Special Groups and Dynamics Seminar
Reductions for Convex Wolff Axioms
In their resolution of the 3D Kakeya conjecture, Wang and Zahl studied collections of tubes satisfying Convex Wolff axioms. I will discuss a variant of their approach, giving a simpler argument in 3D and that can be extended to collections of convex planks in higher dimensions (also satisfying convex Wolff axioms). This allows us to reduce incidence estimates for such collections of planks to the (generalized) sticky case.
This is based on discussions with Alex Cohen, Larry Guth, Hong Wang and Josh Zahl.
