SL2 Seminar

Tilting character computations

Last week, Ben explained how diagrammatic algebra helps understand tilting characters. In Ben's talk the diagrammatic algebra was that of Temperley-Lieb flavour and its higher rank cousins (webs etc.) I will briefly recall the diagrammatics for the Hecke category ("Soergel calculus") and then explain why it gives a much more efficient means of calculating tilting characters. Then I will try to explain how one can implement this on computer. This allows us to compute many more tilting characters than were previously known. This discussion will be reasonably high level. Thorge will go into more detail next week.
