Mathematical Conversations

I will speak, broadly, on, the arithmetic and geometry of quaternion algebras and aspects of the spectral theory of automorphic laplacians. I will describe spectral correspondences between spaces of Maass waveforms on the unit group of a quaternion algebra and spaces of mass forms on a nicely related congruence subgroup of the modular group. These correspondences are predicted by the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence.
