AI Democracy Projects
The AI Democracy Projects are a collaboration between Proof News and the Science, Technology, and Social Values Lab.
The public introduction of generative artificial intelligence (AI) highlighted the implications of these systems for society. While automated decision-making systems and predictive tools have already been demonstrated to pose myriad risks, including affecting the exercise of fundamental rights and access to basic opportunities, generative AI has the potential to expand the scale and velocity of these challenges. The design, deployment and use of AI is therefore a central concern for democracy–for advancing democratic values, securing civil rights and liberties, and ensuring full and equal participation in society.
