Honorary Doctorate

Peter Sarnak , Professor in the School of Mathematics , was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Kings College London for his far-reaching vision that has opened up many new fields of research in mathematics.

Peter Sarnak , Professor in the School of Mathematics, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of St. Andrews. Sarnak received the award in recognition of his ground-breaking work on analytic number theory.
James Simons, Vice Chairman of the Institute Board of Trustees, received an honorary doctorate from York University in recognition of his contributions to mathematics.
Joan Wallach Scott, Professor Emerita in the School of Social Science, received an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in recognition of her scholarly contributions to the understanding of gender history.
