The Future of Useless Knowledge with Robbert Dijkgraaf

Robbert Dijkgraaf, Director and Leon Levy Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, will share his thoughts on the future of useless knowledge at this special event in London. It is, he argues, only by valuing and supporting curiosity-driven research that society can achieve deeper understanding and practical progress. The book, The Usefulness of Useless Knowledge, features Institute for Advanced Study founding Director Abraham Flexner’s classic essay of the same title, first published in Harper’s magazine in 1939, and includes a new companion essay by Dijkgraaf.

This event is in collaboration with The Office Group, 5x15, and How To Academy.
