UNC Chapel Hill Reception and Lecture
IAS former Members and Visitors and guests are invited to join School of Historical Studies 2016-17 Member Klaus Larres as he hosts Dr. Robbert Dijkgraaf for a lecture and discussion on the new book Usefulness of Useless Knowledge. The book features Institute for Advanced Study founding Director Abraham Flexner’s classic essay of the same title, first published in Harper’s magazine in 1939, and includes a new companion essay by Robbert Dijkgraaf, Director and Leon Levy Professor at the Institute.
