AMIAS Board Statement on the War in Ukraine

The Association of Members of the Institute for Advanced Study (AMIAS) deplores the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the devastation the war has precipitated.  The threat of global conflict and the dangers posed by the proximity of the war to nuclear installations are particular concerns. We stand in solidarity with Ukrainian scholars whose nation, people and cultural heritage are under attack; with scholars in Russia who oppose the war; and in support of any AMIAS members suffering in connection with the conflict.

For AMIAS members interested in sharing expertise or providing assistance to fellow members and others, we invite you to contact us at amias@ias.edu.

AMIAS is governed by a scholar-elected Board of Trustees, which meets biannually, sponsors Institute lectures, and welcomes former IAS scholars back to campus each year for special events.
