Einstein Legacy Society
Planned gifts such as bequests, life income gifts, charitable trusts, or gifts of a remainder interest in a residence play a vital role in insuring that the Institute remains one of the world's leading centers for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry, and that it will continue to encourage and support the original, often speculative thinking that advances the frontiers of knowledge.
The Einstein Legacy Society recognizes those friends of the Institute who have made a planned gift or have included a commitment to the Institute in their estate plans. The Society honors the memory Albert Einstein, one of the Institute’s first Faculty members, serving from 1933 until his death in 1955. The Einstein Legacy Society was created in 1996, and is co-chaired by Trustee Emeritus Martin A. Chooljian and Charles and Rosanna Jaffin.
Members of the Einstein Legacy Society are listed in the Institute’s Annual Report and include former Members, Faculty, Trustees, Friends, and other supporters. Members are invited to special events and are honored each year at a dinner hosted by the Director.
A March 4, 2011 Einstein Legacy Society event featured Linda G. Arntzenius, author of Images of America: Institute for Advanced Study, a pictorial history by published by Arcadia Publishing. This latest addition to the Images of America series celebrates the Institute’s unique character and history and features some 189 images, drawing upon photographs from the Institute’s archives along with images from the collections of Princeton residents and others. At the event, Arntzenius spoke about her experiences in compiling all the images and information for the book. Click here to view her talk online.
