Research Description: Patchen Markell is completing a study of Hannah Arendt’s classic 1958 work of political theory, The Human Condition, placing her book into a variety of historical and intellectual contexts in order to draw out, among other things, its surprisingly radical critical engagement with Fordist capitalism.
