Research Description: Arul Shankar is interested in number theoretic questions in the field of arithmetic statistics. In graduate school, he worked on questions regarding the distributions of the discriminants and class numbers of number fields, and the distribution of the ranks and sizes of Selmer groups of elliptic curves.
