Research Description: André Dombrowski’s research centers on French art in the late nineteenth century, with an emphasis on the histories of science, politics, and psychology. He currently studies the intersections between Impressionism and modern technologies of time-keeping, such as the role played by the advent of universal time in 1884 within the serried order of Seurat’s pointillist technique.
