Research Description: Trained as a classicist, Gil Renberg works primarily on Greek and Roman religious beliefs and practices, exploring the documentary sources (i.e., inscriptions and papyri) in particular. While at the Institute, he will be completing two related books on inscriptions recording god-sent dreams and the role of such dreams in ancient religion.
