Historic Walnford, 78 Walnford Road, Allentown, NJ (609) 259-6275
Open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Walnford runs special programs such as Walnford Day on Sunday, October 7 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (free admission and parking). Gristmill demonstrations are given on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Visitors to Walnford may share in a tea, given by Ranger Sarah Bent, a former art historian, that includes 19th century treats like the Jenny Lind cake and sugar gingerbread. Bent has researched the history surrounding the Walns, including the life of Sallie Hendrickson, daughter of Nicholas Waln, who managed the estate for most of the 19th century.
The newspaper U.S. 1 featured Historic Walnford in their August 8, 2007 edition. The cover story written by E.E. Whiting, An Escape to an Old (circa 1734) Mill Stream, details the lives of the Walns and the history of the time period.

"The estate is on the National Register of Historical Places and is the restored home of the Philadelphia Walns, a Quaker merchant shipping family who came over from England with William Penn." Walnford consists of the Waln home built in 1774, a working 19th century gristmill and farm buildings all located on 36 acres of field, woodland and wetlands.
