The Association of Members of the Institute for Advanced Study (AMIAS) is the organization of scholars and researchers who are current or former Members or Visitors to the Institute. Its central purpose is to support the mission of the Institute and to continue for future generations the opportunities for independent, undistracted scholarship that AMIAS members themselves have experienced.
Founded in 1974, AMIAS now has some 5,000 members in more than fifty countries. The association is governed by a Board of Trustees. In addition, regional gatherings both in the United States and abroad are hosted by the Institute's Director. AMIAS members receive Institute publications such as the Annual Report, The Institute Letter, and an annual roster of current scholars with their areas of study. Contributors to AMIAS also receive invitations to lectures and special events.

Former Members and Visitors who give at a Circle level receive benefits associated with each level including a personalized bookplate in an IAS library book and an IAS ID card allowing Dining Hall access for the Aydelotte and Oppenheimer Circles. Also this year your entire gift will be matched through the $100 million challenge grant.
You are also encouraged to consider the Institute in your long-term giving.
The Office of the Director can provide information on planned gifts and can
suggest ways to meet your own financial goals while also benefiting the Institute.
