Magnussen Work Performed At Olympic Arts Festival

Jon Magnussen, artist in residence at the Institute for Advanced Study, conducted the world premiere performance of his new score for the revival of Jos� Lim�n's ballet, Psalm, performed by the Jos� Lim�n Dance Company at the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Arts Festival. Under Magnussen's direction were members of the Weber State University Choir and local professional musicians.

Commissioned by the Jos� Lim�n Dance Company, Magnussen created a work for choir, baritone soloist, and chamber ensemble to accompany Artistic Director Carla Maxwell's recreation of Lim�n's original 1967 choreography.

The work was performed as part of "Lim�n and Jazz" on February 13 and 14 at the Browning Center for the Performing Arts, Weber State University, Ogden, Utah.
