Fuld Hall Reception Desk/Switchboard Services

Check Cashing Service
Personal and traveler's checks up to $200 may be cashed at the reception desk in Fuld Hall between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (except during IAS holiday closings). Please note that the Institute cannot cash third-party checks. Questions may be addressed to the Comptroller, Mary Mazza, , or by calling extension 8209.

Fax Services
Fax services are available at the Reception desk in Fuld Hall between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Members can send and receive fax transmittals through the Institute's main fax number, 609-924-8399. For policies related to the cost of fax services, please consult your School Administartive Officer.

I.D. Cards
Institute identification cards (ID cards) are issued to Members by School Administrative Officers. Cards may be issued by separate application to spouses and companions for a $5.00 charge. To request an ID card for a spouse or companion, Members should send e-mail to with the name of your spouse/companion, your name, your ID number, and your IAS School affiliation.

Identification cards may be used to charge Dining Hall meals to the Members' Institute account. Members are responsible for the charges generated on their respective spouse/companion card.

Spouse/companion ID cards are automatically programmed for access to the TV lounge and laundry room. Additional access to the fitness center or tennis courts can be obtained from the receptionist in Fuld Hall. Requests for access to academic areas should be addressed to your School Administrative Officer.

Laundry Cards
Laundry cards may be purchased from the Receptionist in Fuld Hall between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The cards are coded for a predetermined amount in $5 increments ($10 minimum - $40 maximum purchase) and the cost per washer or dryer load is $1.25.  A $3.00 refundable deposit is required for the laundry card.  The remaining value and deposit on the card can be refunded by the receptionist upon surrender of the card at the time of departure from the Institute.

We have added a self-service "Card Value Center" machine located within the laundry facility. The machine informs the user of the value remaining on the laundry card and also allows the user to add value to the card. It will accept $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. There is a $40 value limit which the card will hold. Instructions are posted at the machine.

Postage Stamps
Postage stamps may be purchased at the Reception desk in Fuld Hall between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (except during IAS holiday closings). Questions may be addressed to Kim Kearns, , or by calling extension 0.

T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Sale
Institute for Advanced Study T-shirts and sweatshirts are available for sale on selected dates (approximately five a year). Please contact Cecilia Parmar, , at extension 4436 for more information.
